Refuge for Prodigals
MISSION
REFUGE FOR PRODIGALS mission is to EFFECT, UNITE, EMPOWER and LIBERATE communities globally using a spiritual and humanitarian focus. This spiritual and humanitarian focus is designed to combat vulnerabilities to violence, drug addition, homelessness, poor academic outcomes, health challenges and family dysfunction. The purpose is to take a declining population and/or community globally and restore it to stellar conditions that will provide a better quality of life.
VISION
The vision of REFUGE FOR PRODIGALS is to use Jesus Christ principles globally to endow all individuals spiritually, physically and mentally utilizing a humanitarian approach that will alleviate declining nations, all types of poverty and holistically enhance the world.
GLOBAL INITIATIVE
*Reduce homelessness
*Increase academic performance
*Increase higher education learning, vocational skill and employment
*strengthen the family unit spiritually, mentally, and physically
* Expose communities and nations to biblical principles
*Decrease delinquency and poor grade outcomes
*Increase self-esteem empowerment among various cultures, races, and communities
*Promote discipleship development and mentoring skills
*Increase church participation and affiliation
*Teach them how to resist the enticement of criminal activity
*Teach them how to deal with emotional barriers by applying appropriate copings skills and crisis management
*Teach them to how to deal with negative daily peer pressure
*Exposure to spiritual music, drama, dance, and media with the ultimate goal of decreasing negative influences in their lives (i.e. vulgar rap music, demoralization of self and others, violent video and audio games etc.)
*Allow children, youth, families and individuals to develop good spiritual health and fitness lifestyle through our wellness center
*Assist children, families and individuals with necessary needs such as clothing, food, spiritual counseling, psychological therapy, support groups/advocates and linkages to community resources for medical, substance abuse treatment, psychiatric services, legal assistance, housing, vocational and educational empowerment, financial entitlements and other areas of need
